Jobs and the Economy
Supporting our working class and small businesses are key to guaranteeing consistent job growth, workforce sustainability, and growing our middle class. As the racial and gender wealth gap and income disparities continue to grow, I’m proud to be a steadfast supporter of unions and union workers, broadening participation in the workforce, permanent expansion of the Child Tax Credit, and an advocate for legislation that will raise the federal minimum wage and ease access to affordable credit for first-time homeowners and small business owners.
Small businesses, minority-owned businesses, and women-owned businesses have all faced excess barriers to entry for far too long, and I will continue to fight to ensure that Congress supports these businesses on the federal level to ensure equity in economic development and provide proper support for workplace preparation initiatives, digital equity, and literacy initiatives.
