About:
Congresswoman Foushee’s Youth Advisory Council affords high school students from North Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District the unique opportunity to engage with their federal government, connect with Congresswoman Foushee and congressional staff, and help shape conversations around the key issues impacting their future.
As a Youth Advisory Council Member, students will be able to:

Learn firsthand about the legislative process and federal government,

Share their perspectives on the issues facing young people in the Fourth District,

Build leadership skills while collaborating with other student leaders, and
-
Work together on projects and engage in policy discussions focused on the challenges affecting their communities and generation.
Eligibility and Commitment:
The Youth Advisory Council is open to high school students who live in North Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District, including students enrolled in public, private, charter, or homeschool programs.
Participation in the Council is a year‑long commitment, requiring regular attendance at four meetings, including a final meeting with Congresswoman Foushee, and the completion of all assignments.
Application and Deadline:
In order to be considered for the Youth Advisory Council, all applicants must complete an application form, which can be found here: Application Form.
The deadline to apply for the Council is Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Applicants will be notified of their selection status on a rolling basis.
