My heart and deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family and the entire UNC community. No student, faculty member, or parent should ever have to experience the terrifying tragedy that UNC faced today.

As we wait for more information regarding the events of this afternoon, it is clear that lawmakers must take concrete action against the horrific acts of gun violence that plagues cities and towns across the nation.
