WASHINGTON, DC (February 1, 2023) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04) was appointed to serve as the Vice Ranking Member on the Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

The Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee oversees economic and safety regulation of railroads, the transportation of hazardous materials, and the issue of pipeline safety. The Subcommittee also has authority over the agencies that administer these regulations and has jurisdiction over the Surface Transportation Board (STB), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Amtrak Inspector General, Northeast Corridor Infrastructure and Operations Advisory Commission, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
