Congresswoman Foushee Introduces Resolution Designating February 4 as Transit Equity Day

WASHINGTON, DC (February 4, 2025) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04) introduced a resolution to nationally designate February 4, 2025, as “Transit Equity Day.” This resolution honors the life and legacy of Rosa Parks, recognizes the importance of promoting equitable access to public transportation, and applauds the many transportation agencies across the country that celebrate Transit Equity Day by offering fare-free rides on public transit.

“I’m proud to honor Rosa Parks and her historic legacy by introducing this resolution to recognize her birthday, February 4, as Transit Equity Day,” said Congresswoman Valerie Foushee. “Public transit is an essential public service; however, the people who depend on it the most often face the greatest difficulty accessing it. As a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I will continue fighting to keep transportation equity front and center, ensuring that every American has access to the safe, reliable, and affordable transit they deserve.”
