Energy and the Environment
As a member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, I recognize the urgent need to create a robust, sustainable energy infrastructure nation-wide. In North Carolina’s Fourth District, new clean energy and environmental technologies have been paramount to our region’s economic development and success. I look forward to continuing to work with my House colleagues to build on these advancements that move the United States away from our dependence on fossil fuels while meeting our climate goals and achieving true energy independence. To ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations, we must strengthen current environmental protection laws and continue to fund key agencies like the National Park Service. These federal programs protect our natural resources while offering recreational and culturally enriching opportunities across the country.
As a proud supporter of the Green New Deal and a member of the Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition, I am excited at the progress that has been made with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), but we must do more to guarantee a livable future for our children and grandchildren without man-made climate disasters.
