WASHINGTON, DC (March 7, 2024) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04), released the following statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address to Congress and the American people.

“Tonight, President Biden delivered a powerful message to the American people on unity, progress, and resilience,” said Congresswoman Valerie Foushee. “Despite entering office in the midst of a global pandemic and an economic crisis, over the last three years President Biden has helped our country turn the corner. Through unprecedented job growth, historic investments to fix our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, increasing access to affordable healthcare and driving down the prices of vital prescription medications, and expanding our middle class by lowering costs for hardworking families, President Biden is ensuring that no American is left behind.

“Though much progress has been made, President Biden made it clear that our work remains unfinished. It is critical that we put the American people first and prioritize delivering real, bipartisan solutions that address the pressing needs of the people. I look forward to working alongside President Biden and my colleagues in Congress as we continue our work to build a better America for all.”
