WASHINGTON, DC (January 18, 2024) — Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04), released the following statement after voting to pass a Continuing Resolution that will extend current Fiscal Year 2023 government funding levels through March 1, 2024, with certain appropriations ending on March 8, 2024.

“For the third time in just four months, House Republicans’ continued recklessness and inability to govern have brought us dangerously close to a government shutdown, risking the livelihoods of hardworking families across the country,” said Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04). “While I am pleased to avoid a government shutdown, continuing to pass short-term funding bills is simply not sustainable nor sufficient. It is imperative that Congress deliver a full-year funding bill that supports our commitment to the needs of the nation and the American people.”
